Only the best for your guest

February 20, 2023

Louise Hjorth, interior designer, influencer and the interior trendsetter of the year in Sweden 2020, is known for her impeccable taste, luxurious interior style and attention to details. Only the best is good enough, which is true for her guests, too.

Together with Carpe Diem Beds, Louise has furnished her guest rooms with the sole purpose of making her guests feel at home and sleep well while visiting her. Here we get the chance to be inspired by Louise’s deep knowledge in how to transform an ordinary room with a floor and walls into a personal haven for guest to fully indulge in.

Just remember to keep most of the decor within the same colour scheme. That way you will be able to add personality with personal items, patterns and colours without creating a clutter.

Make it personal

When styling a guest bedroom, Louise thinks of it as her own master bedroom.

"As you want your guests to feel at home and welcomed, you should want to sleep there yourself. And for me it is all about keeping it simple. Start with a calm and neutral colour scheme that goes tone-in-tone. That way you create the tranquil feeling that soothes and enables you to unwind completely."

To shape a serene and relaxing atmosphere it is also important to reduce the level of noise, and according to Louise textiles like curtains, throw pillows and rugs are perfect as they both absorb the noise and can add to the personal touch of the room.

"Just remember to keep most of the decor within the same colour scheme. That way you will be able to add personality with personal items, patterns and colours without creating a clutter."

A way of further amplifying the peaceful feeling is to use double curtains. Block-out curtains to darken the room during the night, and sheer curtains to let the sunlight sprinkle in while creating a sense of privacy during the day.

Most important to Louise though, is to offer her guests a good night’s sleep.

“Like lying down on fluffy clouds”

As Louise wants her guests to have the same comfort as herself, she used her own experience as a benchmark.

"A while back I acquired a Skaftö double bed from Carpe Diem Beds. I was amazed! It was, and still is, like lying down on fluffy clouds while at the same time having a perfect support for the body. Now I sleep better than ever."

So, for the smaller guest room Louise selected a Malö single bed, and for the larger a Sandö double bed. Louise chose both in medium firmness to fit as many of her guests as possible.

To create that luxurious feeling, Louise also chose the mattress topper Luxury, Lod chrome bed legs and Solö headboards for both beds. Everything dressed in the sophisticated Kendari Seal fabric from the Romo Group.

Complete with comfy pillows and duvets

To finalise the serene sleeping sensation, comfortable pillows and duvets are essential, too. Carpe Diem Beds only use the very best European goose down or mulberry silk that make magic for you sleeping comfort. It is like getting the perfect hug – and always adapting to your body temperature. Not too warm, and not too cold. Perfect!

As icing on the cake, Louise made the beds with the exclusive Vindstilla bed linen. The softness of that exquisite mulberry silk is so soothing her guests will never want to leave bed again. Only the best for your guest!
