Carpe Diem Beds Contour Pocket system is one out of our five unique patents, and the pocket system is a fascinating innovation where the individual pocket springs adjust to the body's contours, instantly molding to every new position. We've integrated padding material in each spring instead of placing them on top of the spring system. The result: supreme comfort and the ultimate sleeping experience, giving you a weightless feeling.
Carpe Diem Beds was founded 25 years ago by chiropractor Börje Thuleskär who was a firm believer in the importance of sleep for body and mind. He sought out the best mattress on the market but wasn’t impressed by what he found. One day he fell asleep on a bed of heather where he realised that nature contoured to his body far better than any bed ever had. This led him to embark on a quest to build the perfect bed, one that would mimic the feeling of weightlessness that he had had on the heather.
The quest took thousands of hours and involved a partnership with the Spinal Unit at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Sweden. The result was Carpe Diem Beds’ patented Contour Pocket System, which has a unique cushioning ability. It gently yields and supports at the same time, instantly moulding to your body’s contours and changing with your every movement. You can feel the mattress embrace your hips and shoulders while gently supporting your lumbar and waist. Your spine is relieved of tension, and your muscles can finally relax. Just like lying on a bed of heather on the cliffs by the Swedish sea.

Carpe Diem Beds offers four luxurious and beautiful continental beds that look as stunning as they feel. Once you settle in, you’ll feel like you’re floating. One of the main advantages of a continental bed is its height, which is created by three comfortable mattress layers. Our continental beds feature patented solutions that allow you to sleep in the most comfortable, ergonomic position. Carpe Diem Beds’ premium Scandinavian designer beds are named after islands and hamlets along Sweden’s West Coast. Our continental bed models, Skaftö, Härmanö, Sandö and Kornö, are made by hand in Sweden and are fully customisable.
Our three adjustable beds feature patented solutions that offer unrivalled ergonomic support. Whether you’re sleeping, resting, contemplating or reading, an adjustable bed helps you find just the perfect position for your body. These beds can be adjusted to suit your specific needs. Our adjustable bed models, Vindö, Saltö and Marstrand, are made by hand in Sweden and are fully customisable.
The frame beds from Carpe Diem Beds combine comfort with a high-quality feeling. Both our frame beds, Malö and Koster, are equipped with our patented Contour Pocket System and our pressure relieving Visco Elastic Bottom layer which contribute to a better sleep pattern. When deciding on a new bed the choice of mattress firmness is also key for your quality of sleep. We offer our mattresses with a different level of softness/firmness on each side of a double bed, so you and your partner can each enjoy the type of mattress you like best, without affecting each other. Comfort is of course subjective and that means that it is critical to find a mattress firmness level that feels right for you, and it pays off to spend some extra time on finding the most optimal firmness. There are a few factors to consider before you make your final decision on mattress firmness: preferred sleeping position, weight, height, back or shoulder pain and if you have a preferred mattress firmness already.
When it comes to the size of the bed, we recommend that you always choose a bed at least 10 cm longer than yourself, which will allow you to fully stretch and be comfortable when unwinding in bed. Give yourself the space both you and your partner need to be comfortable, if you have the space in your bedroom, it is worth having a bigger bed for better sleep. Your bed will not only become your favourite place to rest, but will also become a focal design point, turning your bedroom into a place that you want to show off to your guests.
