Kungsö Continental Bed

The Kungsö bed, part of The Iconic Collection, seamlessly combines design, comfort, and innovation. Kungsö is more than a piece of furniture; it is a centrepiece that adds to the ambience of the entire room. The floating design, based on the centred leg piece, creates a weightless sensation as you sink into the mattress's luxurious comfort. The innovative sleeping technology conforms to your body's shape, providing targeted support where you need it most.

Patented solutions
Just like all beds from Carpe Diem Beds, Kungsö is designed to give you an ergonomic, relaxing night’s sleep that leaves you revitalised and ready for a new day. Kungsö features two patented technologies: the Contour Pocket System, which seamlessly embraces the body's curves, and the Viscoelastic Bottom Layer for maximum comfort and pressure relief. Together, they make the perfect foundation for a good night's sleep.

Carpe Diem Beds’ Contour Pocket System
Our Contour Pocket System is a patented spring system that is placed just below the surface of your bed. Unlike other spring systems, the Contour Pocket System integrates the padding materials into each individual spring. This unique design allows each spring to adjust to the shape of your body, providing a personalized sleeping experience. By conforming to your body's shape, the Contour Pocket System helps your muscles relax, allowing you to fall asleep in a comfortable and relaxed position.

Visco Elastic Bottom Layer – a viscoelastic bottom segment
In cooperation with the Spinal Unit at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg as well as with massage therapists, Carpe Diem Beds has developed a patented viscoelastic bottom segment: the Visco Elastic Bottom Layer. This unique bottom segment, located in the lower layers of your bed, ensures the most burdened springs relax instead of pushing back against your body. Our Visco Elastic Bottom Layer reduces the pressure on your body and stimulates blood circulation. This allows you to sleep undisturbed for longer stretches of time during the night, leaving you free to sink into the coveted phase of deep sleep.

Wash & Care Instructions

Our beds are crafted with the utmost attention to detail and quality, using only the finest materials. Every design is carefully considered to ensure timeless elegance that will elevate any bedroom. With our commitment to durability and longevity, you can be confident that your bed will provide comfort and luxury for many years to come.

Adjusting to your new bed
When you first start sleeping on a new bed, it may feel unfamiliar, and your body might react to the change. This is similar to the stiffness that can result from exercising. It's important to give your body time to adjust to the new mattress. This process can take anywhere from a few nights to a couple of months.

With time, you'll notice the bed softening in the areas where it's used the most, particularly around the shoulders and bottom. This is a natural process, a testament to the bed's quality as it adapts to the unique contours of your body.

Mattress care
To keep your mattress topper clean and prevent it from getting stained, it's recommended that you use a mattress cover. This will also help to extend the life of your mattress topper. Find our mattress covers here.

To extend the lifespan of your mattress, we recommend rotating (reversing) the position of the mattress. This should be done once a year.

If you have two mattresses lying beside one another and often lie in the joint between them, the elastic core may become stretched, forming a gap. If this occurs, swap the position of the mattresses (if they have the same firmness). If the firmness of the beds differs, reverse them (it can be good to do this on a regular basis). This allows the feathers to revert to their original position and better retain their comfort.

Bed legs
Noise (creaking and squeaking) may occur if the legs are not sufficiently tightened. Check that the legs are adequately tightened.

Dirt and stains
Bed mattresses and the parts of the bed that are fitted with fabric may be cleaned with textile cleaner. To extend the lifespan, we recommend vacuuming the bed regularly. Before using any product on your mattress, see the care instructions for your chosen fabric.
